Placed in your yard near an accessible window, our catio is detached from your home so as not to interfere with its exterior, and elevated off the ground for cats' safety. Adjustable leg mounts allow us to adjust your catio to just the right height during installation.  

We remove only the screen portion of the window and replace it with our access panel. A screened and roofed tunnel then attaches to that panel and runs to the catio. All you have to do is open the window and out they go.

Cat Sass Catios are built specifically for Wisconsin using treated lumber, waterproof trim, metal roofing, galvanized hardware, and waterproof flooring. Our optional Winter KIT allow cats to use their catio year round. 

  Our catio walls are made up of specialty coated screen on the inner layer and galvanized steel mesh on the outer layer. The coated screen holds up to claws and climbing and prevents insects and critters from entering your catio and thus, your home. While the outer layer adds an additional level of safety and security. An added benefit of our 2 layer combination is that it provides clear viewing from the inside, with a more obscure view from the outside looking in. 

 We build our catio elevated off the ground and on 6 adjustable height 4x4 legs. While we strictly chose this as an added safety measure, it also allows your catio to be moved in the future and omits the need for a gravel or concrete pad. We can place your catio on any surface, including grass. 

 A latched door placed in the your desired location on your catio wall allows access for cleaning. The door can be locked from the outside only by simply adding your own padlock.

We hand wrap a floor to ceiling cedar post with thick, synthetic sisal rope using no glue or adhesives for safety. Our chosen brand of synthetic sisal holds up far better to claws than natural, skinny ropes and withstands mold and rot. The post also holds one of your catio's 2 hanging hammocks. 

 Two hand-crafted cedar ladder ramps each serve a purpose. The smaller of the two is placed off the tunnel for catio entry. And the 2nd and larger ladder ramp leads to one of the large corner lounging platforms and bubble bowl loungers. It's also perfect for senior and special needs kitties who need easy access to higher points in their catio. 

6 long wood lounging platforms are placed at different heights throughout all 4 catio walls. They give kitties spots to enjoy both sunny and shady spots depending on the time of day and taking in the scenery in all directions.

2 large triangle platforms sit mid-wall height at opposite ends of your catio. Each platform holds a clear acrylic bubble bowl loungers that can be easily popped out for cleaning. 

A large hammock is affixed to the climbing post while another hangs above the entry door below a lounging platform. Both hammocks and removable and machine washable.

We designed our catio with people in mind almost as much as cats. Think “chic tiny cottage,” not chicken coop. We selected wood-looking, waterproof trim in white and various color options for metal roofing. As an added bonus, your neighbor’s won’t turn up their noses in disapproval.

 The cat-friendly and waterproof wood-look floor gives the interior lux appeal and when wet due to rain, dries quickly on its own. It can handle endless washing and won't rot or deteriorate. Typical catios have a wood, wire, or no floor at all. A clean and sanitary environment is just as important to us as any other element of our catios. Cats are especially clean animals and they do not take well to unclean environments. 

 Battery powered, remote controlled interior lighting sets the stage for evening hangouts, a solar exterior light provides your kitty’s castle with some added curb appeal, and a rechargeable interior oscillating fan with light provides added airflow on especially hot and muggy days.
