In 2019, I was looking for a Catio builder when I saw one featured on HGTV. After not being able to find a builder, and not liking what I was seeing for DIY, I decided to design my own. I researched materials & concepts and while some aspects met my needs, others did not. Since Catios are connected to the home in some way, I needed to make sure bugs and pests couldn’t get in my home OR into the Catio. I also wanted it to be easily cleanable & sanitary. AND, I needed it to withstand Wisconsin weather. Not to mention, I wanted it to look like part of my home and I wanted to be able to enjoy it with my cats. My list was long. Finanlly, I DID NOT want it to look like a chicken coop. After a year of sketching and putting my list together, I built my dream Catio. 5 years later, it looks as good as the day it was built and my cats and I have never been happier.
